Yet another dreary call from this so-called Chris, rambling on about loft insulation. First fib: "I'm your local energy consultant." Odd, considering I reside miles away from Bournemouth. Second fib: "Your loft insulation fails to meet the latest regulations." They haven’t a clue about what’s tucked away in my loft, let alone if I even possess one! Third fib: That chap's name isn’t Chris at all! Now they’re trying their luck with different numbers, like 01202 143045.

I've received a staggering seven calls today from the number 0120 143046. Along with that, there's been 040, 048, 052 and 051. Even after I picked up and firmly requested them to remove us from their lists, they keep ringing. We’re on the call barring service too, yet I still seem to get these persistent calls while I’m out and about. This incessant behaviour has turned into harassment, and I will be taking this matter to the police.

Got a call from someone called Chris who was going on about how regular glassfibre or rockwool insulation in lofts causes mould in loads of houses. He tried to pitch me a survey for £75, but said it was free for people my age. I said no thanks but he kinda didn’t seem to get it and just ended the call. The way he spoke was weird, like he kept stopping oddly like a machine or something - maybe he was taking notes or recording the chat? Either way, just felt off and not someone I would trust. Just my two pennies.

some bloke rang claiming to be our local energy advisor, saying that by his notes we’ve still got the old loft insulation stuff, describing it as that yellow material between the wooden joists in the loft. i told him straight i knew what it was and not to talk to me like i’m daft. mentioned we’d already had this chat and told him again to stop calling. he was quite polite and said sorry but honestly i wouldn’t trust him one bit. just a heads up for anyone else.

Regarding loft insulation, there's a notion floating about that the latest "new standards" for loft insulation somehow prevent condensation issues that may arise from the older, fluffy yellow variety. However, that's simply not the case. It's worth noting that materials like the yellow fluffy insulation from Saint Gobain, specifically their Isover glass mineral wool, are still very much on the market today. So, it’s a bit misleading to suggest that current standards eliminate the problems associated with traditional insulation.
