Got a call about loft insulation, saying my old yellow stuff might be causing mould and dampness. They mentioned that all my neighbours supposedly had a survey done already. They asked when the last time my loft was checked, something like within 5 years or not. Then they inquired if I was over 50 or 80, and when I told them I'm much younger, they just ended the call straight away! Feels like they’re targeting older, more vulnerable folks. Seems really sketchy to me, and I hardly ever give out my landline number, so no clue how they got it. Pretty annoyed about that call.

A chap rang me claiming to be Chris from the Green Eco Centre, located in south-west London. He seemed to think I owned the property and that I’d previously benefitted from a government grant for loft insulation - which is quite amusing as I don't even have a loft! When I inquired whether he was cold calling, he just ploughed on with his spiel, undeterred. I mentioned my registration with the Telephone Preference Service, but that didn’t seem to faze him in the slightest. So, I decided to have a bit of fun with him, and eventually, he clocked on that he was simply spinning his wheels with me. He soon wrapped up the conversation.

I had a rather similar experience to the previous commenter regarding the Green ECO Centre. They bombarded me with an array of inquiries about loft insulation. However, when I responded to their last query concerning whether we had made any conversions to the loft, they promptly lost interest and hung up. Quite peculiar, really!
