Got a recorded call about loft insulation, sounded like a proper scam. They kept trying to sound friendly and kept asking if I was between 60-85 or over 85. I’m on the TPS list but still get these annoying calls all the time. Really frustrating and such a waste of time. When I rang back the number, it just said "number can’t be reached". Made me well angry.

There’s this guy, Matthew, who rings me a couple of times a week, sometimes from numbers that are almost the same - always with the Bournemouth area code (01202) followed by something like 137xxx. He’s always on about loft insulation, even though we haven’t got a loft! I usually mess him about a bit, then bail out when he starts asking me how to spell my name. Of course, I’m not giving that info. If you call back, it’s always that dodgy recorded message about “market research” and some digital marketing company. If you’re feeling patient, have a laugh and waste his time, but don’t give away even your first name. Bloody scammers are the worst.

I just let the call ring out to the voicemail, nothing was left but noticed the number was from Bournemouth. My mother-in-law, who’s quite old, had her number shared by folk around Poole and Bournemouth on some dodgy sucker lists. She ended up getting scammed repeatedly over a year and a half - honestly, that area’s a hotspot for scams in the UK.

He said his company was based in SW London, but the call was coming from Dorset, which seemed dodgy. Definitely a scam in my book!

I can’t believe I got another ring from this exact number! The previous time it was selling driveway services (third call mentioned here), but this time it was all about loft insulation. The call sounded totally automated and seemed to change depending on your replies. When asked if I owned the house, I said no. After a brief pause, it simply said "thanks for your time" and ended the call. From the calls I’ve seen on this list, this Bournemouth number seems to be pushing driveways, green energy stuff, and now loft insulation. I’m curious what they’ll try next!
