So, I’ve had about four calls since the 6th of July from different numbers all with the same area code, supposedly from Chris who’s some local energy advisor pushing cavity wall and loft insulation. Thing is, I’m in a completely new build, so not sure why they keep ringing about this. Bit annoying to be honest.

But the moment we mentioned the building's listed status, he just ended the call straight away. Our number's registered with the telephone preference service, so we really shouldn't be getting calls like this.

I wish I could make out what the foreign-sounding person on the phone is saying, though usually they’re trying to sell some kind of miracle energy saver or a home insulation deal. I’ve told them loads of times to stop ringing me and to remove my number from their list, but it hasn’t done any good. I even mentioned that I’m on the telephone preference service. Honestly, getting called two or three times every day feels more like pestering than a legit business call.

I didnt get his name but he claimed to be an energy advisor for my neighbourhood. He mentioned something about certain types of insulation potentially leading to mould, but didnt say which kind. When I asked for details, he just thanked me and ended the call. He did seem pretty focused on making sure I actually owned the house. Honestly, it made me a bit uneasy.

Over the past few months, I’ve received quite a few calls from this number. It’s always a bloke sounding very pleasant, asking if he’s speaking to the homeowner, and throwing in a “how are you today” as well. When I did answer twice, I told him straight up I live in a flat, so no loft to insulate. I didn’t pick up other times since I knew the Bournemouth area code and just let it ring out. Just got another call from them in the last five minutes.

At first glance, it felt as if I was on the receiving end of a pre-recorded message, but I took my time responding, leaving long pauses as his rather arrogant and not-so-polite manner was hard to digest, which clearly rattled him! He had previously contacted me, and I noticed he was all too aware of some answers to his own questions, yet he stumbled and got flustered. He seemed to be fishing for my surname and age bracket, which I steadfastly refused to divulge! FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY, DO NOT SHARE THIS WITH THEM! A short while later, I received an automated message from the crime bureau, requesting I make contact as my National Insurance number has apparently been misused multiple times!

A chap named Michael rang me up, claiming to be reaching out about a government-funded insulation scheme for heating. This marks about the eighth time I've received a call from this fella-his accent is rather memorable, and he certainly speaks at top volume! Fortunately, I shifted homes seven years back and kept my old phone number-same dial code, mind you. When he requested to verify my address, he stumbled upon my previous residence, which is now just an abandoned old place. I decided to throw him a curveball with incorrect details concerning my age and such, so it seems an engineer will be heading over to that derelict cottage to provide a quote! What really worries me is that the Telephone Preference Service ought to be filtering out calls like this!

I received a rather peculiar telephone call from someone named Chris, who boldly asserted, "I take it I'm conversing with the property owner." I chose to brush off his inquiry, at which point he proceeded to inform me about the supposed need for a check-up on my loft insulation, and then rambled on endlessly. When I pointed out that this marked the fifth time I’d received calls from such firms and conveyed my disinterest, the line simply went silent. If he were genuinely representing a reputable business, one would assume he’d have the decency to express gratitude for my time before concluding the call. Not to mention, he sounded distinctly British - honestly, if that’s what he gets paid for, I reckon I’d prefer stacking shelves at the nearest Tesco!

Loft Insulation Con - received a call from some so-called "Energy Saving" firm, insisting they had "installed loft insulation" at my address. The truth is, nothing has been fitted here! When I probed them about which property they thought they were contacting, they abruptly hung up. The number 01202 belongs to Bournemouth, a virtual line from DIDWW Ireland Limited, which also happens to be behind a similar scam I encountered hours earlier from 01304 797 305 (Dover), with yet another "energy saving" pitch. The caller's voice sounded suspiciously like the one from the earlier call, albeit from a different virtual number. The striking resemblance in these scams and the companies involved isn’t just a fluke. A definite SCAM!

Now, moments ago, there was another call, this time with a story about an energy firm, again coming from an 01202 number, which seems to be linked to DIDWW. The moment I pressed him for specifics, he abruptly ended the call. What a cheek!
