So, I’ve had about four calls since the 6th of July from different numbers all with the same area code, supposedly from Chris who’s some local energy advisor pushing cavity wall and loft insulation. Thing is, I’m in a completely new build, so not sure why they keep ringing about this. Bit annoying to be honest.

But the moment we mentioned the building's listed status, he just ended the call straight away. I wish I could make out what the foreign-sounding person on the phone is saying, though usually they’re trying to sell some kind of miracle energy saver or a home insulation deal. When I asked for details, he just thanked me and ended the call. He did seem pretty focused on making sure I actually owned the house. Honestly, it made me a bit uneasy.

Over the past few months, I’ve received quite a few calls from this number. It’s always a bloke sounding very pleasant, asking if he’s speaking to the homeowner, and throwing in a “how are you today” as well. When I did answer twice, I told him straight up I live in a flat, so no loft to insulate. I didn’t pick up other times since I knew the Bournemouth area code and just let it ring out. Just got another call from them in the last five minutes.

I got a call from a young bloke with a posh British accent about loft insulation and condensation. At first I thought it was some robotic call, but I kept leaving very long silences because his rude and arrogant manner really threw me off and seemed to make him a bit on edge. He’d called me before, and even tripped himself up asking questions he obviously knew the answers to. He got quite frantic, demanding my last name and age range, which I never gave him! Seriously, don’t share that kind of info with them. Then about 20 minutes after, I got a recorded message from the crime investigation folks saying my NI number had been used fraudulently multiple times and I should get in touch immediately!

Some guy called me claiming to be Michael about a government scheme for heating insulation, and honestly it was the same bloke who’s rung me about seven or eight times now. His accent is really distinct and he talks super loud. I moved to a new house years ago but kept the same phone number, and when he asked me to verify my address, he used my old one - which is just an abandoned cottage now. I decided to mess with him a bit and gave him wrong details like my age, and now apparently an engineer will turn up there to give a quote! What bugs me is that the Telephone Preference Service really should be stopping these kinds of calls from coming through.

I got a call from a bloke named Chris who asked if I was the house owner. I didn’t answer right away, then he went on about checking my loft insulation or something. Told him this was like the fifth time companies like his have called me and I’m not interested, and then he just hung up on me. If it was a legit company, surely he’d have been taught to thank me for my time before ending the call? He sounded English too - if he’s actually getting paid for that, I reckon I’d prefer a job down at the local Tesco!

Got a call from some so-called "Energy Efficiency" firm claiming they'd put loft insulation in my place - which is total rubbish, no one’s done a thing. When I asked them what address they thought they were ringing, they just hung up. The number was 01202, which is a Bournemouth code, but it's actually a virtual number from DIDWW Ireland Limited. Earlier that day, I got a similar call from 01304 797 305, a Dover number, with the same spiel about energy efficiency. The speaker seemed like the same bloke, just switching virtual numbers. It’s gotta be the same scam, no doubt. Stay clear of these lot!

Just got a call a couple of hours back from the same old loft insulation scam. Then I got another call moments ago, this time from an 01202 number linked to DIDWW, with the bloke pretending to be from an energy firm again. When I asked for more info, he just dropped the call straight away.
