I recently looked online for some home insurance quotes and had to enter my mobile number, which I’m not happy about just for a quote. If I don’t recognise the number and there’s no clear message left, I just block it.

They phoned me three times yesterday. When I picked up, loads of people could be heard chatting in the background like a call centre, then the line just went dead. I’m keeping an eye out for any more calls, and if they ring again, I’m planning to do some proper tracing. When I figure out who they are, I’ll make sure their CEO gets a taste of it too.

Got a missed call but no voicemail or anything. I was just looking into home emergency insurance and had to put my phone number into a form online, so I’m guessing it came from that. Either way, I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number now.

If folks just ignored cold calls they'd probably stop pretty quickly. But since some do answer, the callers keep going. Me, I dont bother with them at all, and any business that rings me out of the blue or sends unwanted post I make a point to never deal with. Been doing that for ages now.

It’s weird because they’ve phoned me right after I requested a quote. I never put my phone number into those quote sites, so they must be getting my info some other way. Isn’t that against the data protection rules or something?

Got a call from this number, said it was some house emergency help. I’d been looking online at boiler cover but don’t remember giving my info out. Rang me and I thought it was a mate nearby, but they hung up straight away when I picked up. They called again when I was at work and I told them I wasn’t interested, cut them off while they were still speaking. Then they rings again a couple of hours later asking if I’d “sorted” my cover, and I just told them nicely to buzz off!

Called me from 1707/19 saying it was home emergency support. Just yesterday I was on South West Water’s website checking out their plumbing and drainage insurance options. I left the page when I saw the price, but I never put my number in anywhere as far as I can remember, and when I do check quotes, I usually just put in a fake number. Didn’t think to ask how they got it then, maybe South West Water passed my details on? Strange!

some bloke called sayin i was interested in 'white goods' insurance, which i definitely wasnt. i told him nicely to stop and bye three times, but he kept pushing. in the end i got a bit rude and just ended the call.
