I've had three different calls today, all from various numbers, trying to persuade me to switch broadband. Felt a bit iffy about it, so I went ahead and blocked the unknown numbers just in case they were dodgy.

I received a call from this number earlier today. A woman on the line claimed she was representing EE. I informed her that we don't have an account with EE, as we’re with BT. She then mentioned that EE and BT are effectively part of the same group. Curious, I asked her what the purpose of the call was. She said it was in relation to my broadband service and that she wanted to chat about pricing and potential offers. I told her I would prefer to end the call and verify her identity by calling back. She pressed me for the number I intended to use. I mentioned I’d use the one from my online account. Suddenly, she switched her story, saying she wasn’t calling from the broadband company, but rather to provide assistance for broadband issues. I reiterated that I didn’t require any help, and that was when she abruptly hung up.
