I ended up closing my 1&1 account after constantly getting flooded with emails about web design offers. I have no clue when I said it was okay for them to share my info. For the past few days, I’ve been getting loads of annoying calls (a couple each day), including this one, mostly about the same stuff or nobody answering when I pick up. Definitely going to report 1&1 for mishandling personal data like this.

I got in touch with one and one and they said that number isn’t theirs. They called me shortly after I bought a domain and hosting. The guy seemed pretty knowledgeable, chatting about their marketing deals and sounded legit. Then he tried to push an extra package for my control panel, which I said no to. Beware of calls from anyone claiming to be 1&1, it’s a total scam! They clearly have your domain registration details (which also show your hosting provider, FYI). I can confirm 1&1 themselves don’t bother you like this. Best to avoid these calls completely.

Not a safe call. Some dodgy lot from Astute Itd Bournemouth pretending to be 1 & 1, but they can’t even say their own company name right. Told them to jog on and reported them to Ofcom. They were fishing for info about my domain. Beware!
