I got a call from someone trying to sell appliance insurance. I told them I usually just replace stuff instead of insuring it. Honestly, best to avoid chatting with these people.

Got a call from a woman with an American accent asking about someone who doesn't live here anymore. I just ended the call straight away. They've rang a few more times since then but only ever got the answerphone. The number shows up as valid, which is odd because I'm on the TPS. Doesn't really add up how this could be legit, so watch out.

Got a call from this number, and a lady with an Asian accent tried to convince me my kitchen appliance insurance was rubbish and that she could sort me out a better deal. Thing is, I don’t even have that kinda insurance. When I told her this, she just went quiet and hung up. This isn’t the first time I’ve had a call from this number; most times they just cut off right after I pick up.

This number rang me twice within a week, trying to convince me they could cut costs on my white goods insurance. Since I don’t actually have any insurance like that, I humoured them till they asked for my bank details. That’s when I told them there was no way they could save me money since I wasn’t paying a penny. Credit where it’s due, the person calling was polite and kept their cool the entire time during the pointless chat.

Was told I had some kind of kitchen appliance insurance, which I didn’t. When I told him that, he started arguing. I just ended the call.

Got a call from someone called Sam claiming to be from Safe and Secure. He wanted my bank info, but I just fed him a load of made-up digits. As soon as he got them, he just hung up. Pretty obvious scam, if you ask me.

Got a call from someone named 'Mary' around 5.18 today, she knew my name and told me she was ringing about the warranty for our kitchen appliances. But when I told her we didnt have any warranty like that, she just ended the call.

A lady called and actually knew my name, even repeated the start of my postcode. She said I had a policy for kitchen appliances and that SS could offer me a better price. I told her I didn’t have that kind of policy and we were sorted with our home contents insurance, not SS. Then she just ended the call. Definitely a scam.

Got a call from someone saying they were from SS, telling me my kitchen appliance insurance was costing me more than it should and that they could sort out a cheaper deal. They mentioned I was paying around £25 a month and told me to look over my bank statements. Problem is, I don’t have any such insurance. Then the bloke just ended the call.

Got a phone call from someone with a Scottish accent saying I’m overpaying for my white goods insurance. She asked me to verify the brand of my appliances because apparently the details she has are all scrambled and she can’t get the code. When I asked her to send me something in writing, she said she’d ring back later - said she was from SS and would call at 1pm.

I've received calls from this number nearly every weekday for the past week to ten days, usually around 11 in the morning. They tend to ring multiple times, but whenever I pick up, there's never anyone on the line. It's quite puzzling!

This number has called twice already in the past couple of days and today it was my turn to answer. A woman with a North American accent asked for my grandfather, who unfortunately passed away recently. When I questioned who she was, she just hung up straight away. My aunt had to deal with similar calls before from the same number.

Got a call from some woman with a North American accent hassling me over payments for kitchen stuff. I have no idea who they are or how they got my info. The moment I said I didn’t know anything about it, she just hung up on me. What’s going on with these calls?

Got one of those classic calls again, this time from someone claiming to offer government-endorsed warranty on household appliances. Didn’t bother with TPS, just kept ringing. I had a word and suggested she find a proper job instead of scamming folks, maybe then people would actually respect her! Lucky I was at my mum's place when it happened... she's 92 years old.

Got a call yesterday from someone who insisted my kitchen was old and needed fixing up. Funny thing is, they’ve never even been inside my house or seen my kitchen! I was sure cold calling was supposed to be illegal here.

Over the past two weeks, my partner has been contacted multiple times, I reckon at least three, by a lady insisting she’d bought cooker insurance and was pushing an ‘upgrade’ on her. Obviously, none of it was true. My partner was polite enough and asked her to ring me instead, so gave her my work number - surprise, surprise, no follow-up call. We’re signed up to the TPS, but this company seems to completely ignore that.

Like others have said, it was a bloke speaking with an American accent. He kept dodging questions about my insurance provider and it felt really dodgy, a proper scam if you ask me.

I got a call from someone saying they were from Social Security insurance or something, talking about cover for appliances like fridges and washing machines. They even had my address which freaked me out. When I tried to get them to say which appliance I was supposedly overpaying insurance for, they just cut me off and ended the call. Feels like a total scam to me. Honestly, drag the convo out if you want to waste their time and stop them swindling others.

Some bloke rang up saying he was from an insurance company for white goods, telling me I was overpaying. He couldn’t even say which firm I was with and reckoned I was paying $25. I told him I deal in £, and he hesitated, then said "£25", like it was some big revelation. When I pressed him more, he just faked a bad connection and ended the call. Honestly, it was pretty funny listening to him squirm like that.

A bloke called saying he was from S.S.P. or something similar, telling me I was overpaying on my kitchen appliance insurance and tried to give me a contact number. When I started asking what exactly was insured and with which company, he suddenly just cut off the call. He claimed I had my cooker, fridge, and washing machine insured, which is nonsense - never insured my cooker or fridge, and they’re both old but still work fine. Clearly, the guy was a total conman from some dodgy scam firm. Best to steer well clear of these people!

At about 10.47 this morning, Wednesday 6th June, I got a call from a lady saying something about my white goods warranty running out and offering to switch me over. Thing is, I've never had any kind of white goods cover, so I made it clear straight away that she wasn’t to mess about with anything on my behalf. After that, she just dropped the call.

Keeps ringing but never actually answers, just a complete pain with all the constant calls. Total waste of time.

Just like loads of others, these people said they worked for SS and tried to sell me cheaper cover for my washing machine than my existing one. They told me I was paying about £15 a month but wouldn’t say who with or where exactly my insurance was coming from, couldn’t really answer any of my questions. Not sure if they’re proper scammers or just trying to drum up new customers.
