8 yearsI received a call earlier today from this number, which claimed to be affiliated with Virgin and Sky. They purported to assist with blocking unwanted calls and insisted they needed to verify my card details to process a payment, indicating that my last contribution was back in February 2015. I have no recollection of such a payment, and I don't recognise the caller's company at all. What’s troubling is that they had all my personal information, and I’m baffled as to how they obtained it. After hanging up, I promptly contacted my bank, who advised that it sounded like a scam; thankfully, no funds have been withdrawn, and they suggested I reach out to Virgin. Virgin confirmed it was indeed a scam, so I’ve since cancelled my card to safeguard against any potential fraud. The woman on the phone was extremely convincing and adept at her ploy.
