Got a call from this number earlier today, some bloke claiming to be from EE offering a deal on upgrading to the iPhone 13. I told him I wasn’t interested in upgrading, but he started shouting saying it was a great deal and that I wouldn’t have to pay a thing. I repeated I wasn’t interested and then ended the call.

Got a call from an Asian woman claiming to be Virgin Media, offering free broadband and calls. I said I didn’t believe she was from Virgin, plus she had dialled my work phone, so I wasn’t interested. Got a call earlier from someone claiming to be with Talk Talk, telling me I needed to switch on my computer because apparently I was hacked from overseas. I told them my computer’s been off for like a year, then they said that’s exactly why I was under attack?? I just hung up right away, seemed totally fishy to me. Watch out for this number, definitely some sort of scam trying to get your details.

Two comments down from this one show you exactly how to deal with these scams. If all those thousands of folks in the UK who get these dodgy calls and texts daily actually do what’s recommended, the cops and government will have to pay attention and crack down on these thieves. Don’t just sit back and hope someone else sorts it. It honestly doesn’t take much time at all. I’ve bookmarked the 'Action Fraud' site and even dropped an email to my MP - got a pretty unexpected reply too. But it’s not gonna change anything if only I’m doing it.

The voicemail I reached was for some company named Cosmos, and they left an email that ended with outlook.com - which seemed dodgy to me, not a real business address. I wouldn’t bother emailing it, as I reckon they’re just trying to get hold of your info.

They claim to be from Carphone Warehouse, but it’s a fake! I’ve never had a call from them before and as far as I know, they only get in touch if you’ve set it up yourself. I’d suggest getting in touch with this company and lodging a complaint. They’re the ones selling on this range of numbers and nearly every spam call I’ve been receiving over the past two months has come from numbers they’ve passed along.
