got a call from some robotic lady claiming she's from my internet company saying my ip was hacked in loads of countries and they're gonna cut me off in a day if i dont ring their "technician". well if thats the case, good riddance. never thought the internet was all that - just a pain everywhere you go. so before i lose my connection for good, cya cruel world wide web. sniff sniff. oh and yeah, pretty sure it was just some scam trying it on.

Got a recorded call claiming to be from “your internet provider”. Legit broadband companies like Sky or Virgin always say their actual name when calling. This is one of those typical scams. If you press 1 to speak to a “tech expert”, you're actually putting yourself through to a premium number and will get stung with extra charges just for making the call.

Called saying there was an issue with our internet IP, threatening to cut off service within a day unless we talked to one of their “advisors,” then just ended the call.
