Just got another one of those annoying spam calls.

It’s pretty worrying when someone calls up and starts naming my bank and says I’ve got direct debits set up for my kitchen appliances! Felt a bit off to me.

Got a call from a guy called Alan, sounded Asian, about lowering the cost of my home appliance insurance. He kept going on about how I'd supposedly had the policy for years. Wanted me to confirm the age and make of my TV, cooker and fridge/freezer. I played along, said I wasn’t sure but he told me to check it out. I said I couldn’t get up right then, so he said he’d ring back later to get the info and send over the documents, kept insisting it wasn’t some kind of scam! Ended up blocking the number and reporting it.
