I can’t believe I let myself get flustered and rang that number while I was on the job. Is there any chance something dodgy could come of it? I’m so irritated with myself for getting sucked in!

I just received a rather alarming message on my computer claiming that I had a virus and that all my personal information had been compromised by hackers. The prompt urged me to call a specific number straight away. In a moment of panic, I went online to look up the number and luckily stumbled upon the aforementioned comment, which certainly helped. It was rather foolish of me to make the call on my landline, driven by fear as I was. Thankfully, I managed to follow the excellent advice provided to eliminate the bogus message. I'm sincerely grateful for that! I do worry now about being inundated with nuisance phone calls, which would be quite a burden, especially while I'm recuperating from cancer and navigating the challenges of being a single mum.

I received a rather alarming notification about my hard drive potentially being wiped. Out of curiosity, I entered the number into a different device's browser and stumbled upon this site. It clearly advises against making any phone calls and suggested shutting down the device's browsers immediately. Thankfully, I managed to follow that advice!

Oh, not this old trick again! I got a pop-up claiming my hard drive was in jeopardy and that it would be wiped clean in just a few minutes. What a load of nonsense! I managed to sort it out by simply shutting down the browser through Task Manager (just hit ctrl+shift+escape) and that did the job perfectly.

I had a rather alarming experience the other day! A full-screen pop-up invaded my Windows desktop, claiming that my hard drive was under threat and would be erased in approximately four minutes. It urged me to ring a so-called Windows customer service on this number, insisting that I shouldn’t close the window. It was clearly a scam, but it thoroughly rattled my wife, who was in the midst of checking her emails at the time!

I recently had a rather peculiar moment when a number appeared on my display. A composed gentleman from a call centre in Delhi picked up and expressed a desire to gain access to my computer.
