Reports on phone number 01183151040
10 yearsMy laptop suddenly displayed a warning saying there was a serious issue and I had to call a number before I could do anything else, even close the message. I dialled 01183151040 and spoke to a man who sounded like he was from somewhere in India. He asked what I was doing on my computer at the time - I told him I was just browsing local news on thisissouthwales. He claimed the problem came about because I’d clicked an advert and there was an error with the server. According to him, fixing it would take about an hour or so and I’d need to buy a passcode from his company. When I mentioned that I already pay Microsoft annually to look after my PC, he seemed a bit annoyed but insisted he’d fix the problem. After closing the warning, I checked my F-Secure antivirus was still active (which it was), and so far my laptop seems to be running fine - maybe it’s all in my head, but it actually feels faster than it has in days.South AsiaMicrosoft10 yearsHad a call from someone pretending to be Microsoft tech support, total scam. They kept trying to convince me there was something wrong with my computer. Pretty dodgy if you ask me!MicrosoftSubmit Your Own Report (0118 315 1040)
