01183111037 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 01183111037 👆 is reported as a persistent scam number linked to fraudulent domestic appliance insurance schemes. Callers often pose as representatives of generic or bogus insurance companies, attempting to sell cover or offer discounts on non-existent policies. They typically attempt to extract personal and bank details, sometimes using automated messages pledging callbacks. Many users highlight repeated calls despite call blocking or registering with the Telephone Preference Service. The number has been connected to deceptive tactics such as misnaming recipients, providing inconsistent company information, and aggressive follow-ups. It is strongly advised not to engage, never disclose financial information, and to report such calls via official fraud reporting platforms. Blocking alone is ineffective due to frequent changes in numbers used by scammers.

Heads up, if you get a call about loft insulation, it’s probably a scam! Most of those calls aren’t legit at all!

Funny thing about 01183111037, it’s started sending those automated voice messages claiming you owe money on your account. This kind of scam has been going round forever, but apparently, it still manages to catch some people out. Once you get that exact same recorded message with identical charges popping up on multiple calls, it’s pretty clear it’s just a con and not a legit call by any means.

I’m totally fed up with getting calls from these scammer idiots who just want to waste my time. Even with my number on the do not call list, they keep ringing me all the time. Honestly, the rules need to be sorted out properly because this is just ridiculous. 😡

Someone rang me, I picked up and then they just ended the call. I reckon it’s one of those scams where they get money from calls like that. Proper dodgy.

I picked up when this number rang, said hello a few times but no one replied, then the call just ended. Weird, no voice at all.

Got a call from a rather polite sounding lady with very clear English, selling some sort of domestic appliance renewal that doesn’t even exist. Sounded legit at first. I just replied “No thanks” and ended the call. Feeling a bit cheeky, I rang them back half an hour later - a friendly male voice left a recorded message saying they’d missed me and would try again tomorrow, mentioning something about “Personnel Recruitment Outsourcing” or some such nonsense. Needless to say, I’ve blocked the number now, but I reckon they’ll pop up again with a different one soon enough.

I got a call from this number saying they were from general appliance cover. When I listened carefully, they had my surname spelled wrong. Then they tried to connect me to their payment department, but it didn't sound like I was being transferred at all. After that, they asked for my bank info, and that’s when I told them I knew who they really were.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from an insurance firm for home appliances. I told them I don't own any, but they insisted I must have a freezer. I said no again, but they kept pushing. I told them they’re just wasting their time and my time. Then they just hung up on me. Like others have pointed out, this is definitely a scam.

I received a call from someone with a thick accent, making it rather challenging to comprehend what they were saying. They kicked things off with the standard "how are you today?", which tends to raise my suspicions - a common red flag for scams, wouldn’t you agree? It sounded like they were fishing for information regarding some sort of gadget insurance.

Just got a call from 01183111037 again not long ago. This time it was a woman with an English accent saying my phone warranty needs renewing and apologising for missing me, promising to ring back tomorrow. I don’t have any phone cover like that anyway, so it’s obviously dodgy. The TPS can’t seem to do much about these calls since they never give a proper company name, and if you pick up, they’ll never tell you who they’re from. Watch out, it’s definitely a con!

I've been receiving a whole host of calls for what feels like an eternity, all from different numbers that I've taken the liberty of blocking. The voicemail I keep getting is quite familiar - it features a British woman's voice harping on about some insurance for household gadgets. It always wraps up with the rather ominous line, “I shall make it a point to ring you again tomorrow.”

Another dodgy number popping up, used by scammers once more. Honestly, I’d recommend getting yourself a BT Call Guardian - since I’ve had one, none of these annoying calls ever bother me and it’s such a relief. They’re just after your bank or personal info, so don’t let them bait you in. Never share any details over the phone. If they talk about refunds, insist on a cheque - they won’t offer it because they need your bank info to send money, which is their trap. Stay sharp and don’t get caught out!

Beware of these home appliance warranty insurance scams! They just want your bank info so they can drain your account. It’s sick how these lowlife scammers, often from abroad, keep calling from different numbers all the time. I’ve put my number on the TPS and use blockers, but they somehow still manage to ring me. Proper annoying and dodgy!

The caller presumed I was the former holder of this phone number - a classic indication that it's a scam. It’s just your run-of-the-mill domestic appliance insurance con; they try to extract your bank details under the guise of establishing a new direct debit, all the while boasting a 35% reduction on the premium since I haven't made any claims. I’ve gone ahead and blocked this number, but I’ve no doubt they’ll ring me again next week with a fresh number.

I recently had a rather dubious encounter with an insurance cold caller regarding home appliances. I decided to play along, adopting an American accent myself and pretended to be utterly baffled when the agent mentioned pounds instead of dollars, claiming I was in the States. I even led them to believe their system was glitching. They were thoroughly duped! These con artists can sound quite persuasive with their well-rehearsed routine, but don't be fooled; they’re nothing more than a bunch of frauds.

Received a call from this number on the 19th of May, 2022, with the caller claiming to represent "Domestic Insurance" and stating they could offer a 35% reduction on our current household appliance cover. I requested they get back to me today (20th of May) post-3 o'clock, which they duly did. However, they only mentioned discounts for three of our appliances, while we actually have a greater number insured with the same provider. Something felt off about the whole interaction, so I asked them to send the specifics via email to the address they supposedly had on file, without actually providing it to them. I then rang our insurance company using their known number, and they confirmed that nothing of the sort was being offered and that the 01183 number was not associated with them. We're situated in the heart of Essex. The caller came across as quite credible, with a distinctly British accent.
