I got a call from a company about loft insulation and when I mentioned I was over 80, they suddenly lost interest. I asked why they seemed to be treating me differently because of my age, but they couldn’t give me any explanation. I knew right away it was a bit dodgy and usually I would hang up straight away. This was the second time in two days they called, but using different numbers. Next time, like before, I’ll just end the call as soon as they start.

My screen showed Reading, so I picked up but didn’t say a word. No one spoke on the other end, which really seems fishy. Sounds like a scam to me. I ended up blocking the number before looking it up here. Be careful, folks!

The caller actually knew my full name, even threw in my middle initial. I told him he must have the wrong person. Then he asked if I was the one who lives here. I said no and quickly hung up.

The person on the other end of the phone didn’t really say who they were with, just kept saying it wasn’t an urgent call and I didnt need to ring back since they’d try again later. But then they mentioned a number to call if I wanted to stop the calls - I couldn’t really get it down though. Sounds like one of those dodgy calls to me, probably why you found this site.

Got a call from someone with a thick Asian accent, they seemed to know quite a bit about me but then started asking if I’d take a survey. I told them no thanks and quickly ended the call.

On 17th Jan 2022 around 5.46pm, I got a call from a woman with quite a strong accent and lots of noise in the background. She asked for me personally and claimed it was about a free survey for loft insulation, saying it wasn’t a sales pitch. Similar to what someone else mentioned about a call on 5th Jan, it seemed pretty dodgy and like a scam. I told her I’m on the TPS and wasn’t interested, then ended the call. Annoying nuisance.

I received a rather peculiar call from someone claiming they were regarding my PPI. Apparently, they have quite a bit of knowledge about a policy I took out back in 2018. They went on about a fresh claim and insisted there's some money waiting for me from Black Horse. I responded by telling them that if it's genuine, they should put it all in writing and send me a letter, so I can review it properly. I’m not keen on discussing things over the phone!

Somebody rang me up using my name and claimed it was regarding a “loft insulation survey” and insisted it wasn’t a sales call. Since I’ve never had any interest in or contact about loft insulation, I figured it was just a bluff, told them off for lying, and hung up. Plus, you could hear loads of noisy chatter in the background, like a dodgy call centre rather than a proper business with decent kit.
