Got a call from a woman who sounded like she was from somewhere in East Asia, claiming to be from Microsoft. After the usual spiel, I said my computer was fine. She then interrupted me, got louder and told me to listen up. I told her I wasn’t gonna listen to some unsolicited and rude stranger and promptly ended the call.

I got a call on my landline from a robotic voice claiming there had been a £300 charge on my credit card. Since I rarely use it, they said it looked fishy. They told me to press 1, so I did. Then an Indian bloke with a thick accent asked for my details. I asked which bank he was from, and told him I don’t even have a credit card! After that, he just ended the call. Watch out if you get a call from a bank with a recorded female voice - if it was real, they’d probably tell you to call the number on your card yourself.

This scam isn’t very clever and it’s the second time this month I've had the same prerecorded message come through, but from different phone numbers. The automated voice left on my voicemail claimed there were dodgy transactions on my credit card, one for £300 to Amazon, and another for some crazy large sum. It then asked to press 1 to confirm the charges or 2 to talk to someone and challenge them. I’m on the TPS list, so these calls clearly shouldn’t be happening.

I got a call warning me about some dodgy transactions on my credit card, seemed like a total scam to me.
