How on earth can one put a stop to these idiots incessantly calling? We've had our fill and are utterly exasperated by the constant ringing, only to discover there's nobody on the line when we pick up.

We received a call from this number, and as soon as we attempted to answer, there was a fit of chuckling in the background. Moments later, the line went dead, leaving us bemused. Astonishingly, we were hit with a charge of 1 pound!

According to our phone logs, this particular number has reached out to us a couple of times today-each instance recorded as a blank line-and additionally, once on the 22nd and again on the 21st. Could you confirm whether this was indeed Shelter? If so, I will be cancelling our contributions. I'm thoroughly exasperated with these persistent calls-they keep ringing us to thank us for our donations, which is lovely, but then they ask for more funds, and it’s becoming quite tiresome.

We’ve attempted to call these folk five times today, and it’s only just gone 7:30 in the evening! The moment we’re at work, our phone starts buzzing. Each time, all we get is some office hubbub, and then the call is dropped without a word. It’s utterly ridiculous to receive five calls in one day with absolutely no message left behind. We sincerely hope they try to get in touch again because I’ve got a few choice words for them!

We received a call from this number, but as we were unfamiliar with it, we decided not to answer. To our surprise, a voicemail was left, but it was rather muddled and difficult to comprehend. We tried to return the call, but just as the automated message began to announce the company name, the static interfered, making it inaudible. It appears this was a cold call for fundraising purposes. I'm curious, will they receive a cut of the funds when we call back or will it be when they manage to get through to me?

I find it rather amusing that two chaps here have noted that these individuals donated to charities solely because the women involved were either a) attractive or b) merely had a captivating voice! Quite the observation, indeed! :P But on a more serious note, we too signed up with Oxfam just a few days back while out and about. So, I suppose that clears things up!

I received a call from these folks asking for donations to assist those in need. We opted to contribute a small amount - just 50 pence. At the very least, it will go towards helping those less fortunate! I’d much rather put that 50p to good use than fritter it away on something pointless!

I received a call from this number earlier, and the chap on the line asked, "Is this Stephen [surname]?" I confirmed it was me, and then he just hung up on me! Quite bizarre, really. It could be a clueless telemarketer, but it seems more plausible that they’re trying to verify details from some dodgy cold-calling list. The only interaction I’ve had with Oxfam was purchasing something through their website, and I’ve got no recollection of giving them my mobile number. I’ve certainly never chatted with any of those clipboard collectors out and about. Quite the puzzler, isn’t it?

Greetings. I just received a call from Childline, and they wanted to inform me about the various activities they’re involved in. Was this an appropriate moment to discuss it? I replied accordingly, but then suddenly the line went dead on me...

We received a call from individuals representing Oxfam. The chap on the other end was rather charming, so we decided to contribute a tenner a month. You know, it certainly beats dealing with someone who’s blowing smoke about budget phone deals!

I’ve recently parted ways with Amnesty International, not Oxfam, and I keep getting calls from this number.

For the past month, this number has been ringing me each evening. I pick up, but all I get is silence followed by the call being ended. Quite frustrating!

They've been ringing us at least once a day for the past couple of days. However, we stopped answering after the second call, thinking they'd get the hint and leave us alone. The next time they try, we’ll definitely answer and make it emphatically clear we're not interested!

It turns out it’s Oxfam! They stopped us on the street a few days ago. Honestly, these folks are relentless! We only decided to leave them be because the lady was quite attractive, and let’s be honest, we had his number too! :)

Just a heads-up! We tried calling this number again, and we were greeted by an automated response system for NTT Fundraising.

Every single day without exception, this number calls us! It's become a ritual for them to ring us up on a Friday evening! We're convinced this nonsense has been dragging on for about three days now. What's the best way to make it stop?!

Indeed, it's Oxfam that we’re referring to. We wrapped things up there roughly a couple of days back.

Indeed, this was Shelter! I'm also on their mailing list, and they called us to discuss how 2007 has been treating them amidst the turmoil they’re facing. We couldn’t help but think, what on earth have they been doing with our contributions all this time?!

I encountered a remarkably similar situation earlier today. We recently made a donation to the Dogs Trust, and it seems our details ended up in the hands of this firm. When I mentioned our tax contributions, they insisted on discussing it further, but I told them it was not a topic we could entertain. Quite abruptly, they hung up on me!
