Got a call from 0117 911 1676 on my mobile. When I picked up, I asked, “Is this a sales call? What exactly are you trying to sell?” A man with a thick accent replied (could hardly understand him): “I’m from xxxx Insurance… do you have insurance?” I said, “I’m already covered, cheers - no interest.” I try to be polite since everyone’s just doing their job, after all. He kept pushing, so I just said politely, “Thanks for calling, but I’ve got to go now,” and hung up.

Somebody rang saying they were from Legal and General. When I said I’d rather contact L&G myself to go over my policy, the bloke got really rude and started moaning about how he couldn’t do his job! I just told him that wasn’t my concern and he ended up calling me a stupid cow before hanging up on me!

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent about some life insurance review. Told her I hadn’t got anything like that. Then I said she had the right number but it wasn’t me she was trying to reach. She kept on asking if I had life insurance. I told her I wasn’t interested and then she just ended the call.

Today, 20/01/2023 at 10.49am, I got a call from 01179111676. There was an Indian lady on the line claiming she needed to go over my life insurance. Thing is, I don’t have any. Life Insurance Company - They didn't even seem to remember the name of their own firm. I blocked the number and reported it to the three networks as spam by sending a text saying Call 01179111676 to 7726 (which spells SPAM on the phone keypad with letters). You can just forward unwanted texts to that number. Other providers probably have comparable services too. Do this so the number gets blocked if enough people report it, specially if you reckon it's a scam rather than just junk calls.
