If the call is from a number we dont recognise, we just dont pick up. In our house, we have a strict no-answer rule for any unidentified caller. Since they never bother to leave a message, it really dosnt matter who they were. We just ignore them all together.

On the 7th of December 2021, I got a spam call and then two more came in quick succession from other numbers just after I picked up!

I got called twice within a day by folks who said they were from a web design firm. Both times they had an asian accent. I just told them I wasn’t interested and asked nicely to be removed from their calling list before I ended the call.

Got a call from some 'Digital Agency' saying I’d registered a domain name and they wanted to sell me website design services. Thing is, they called my personal mobile which is on the TPS list - which seems pointless these days, since business calls aren't blocked and loads of folks are working from home now. So, technically I guess they’re allowed to ring, even if it’s a bit annoying.

I picked up the phone and a bloke with a not-so-nice accent called me by name, which was a bit creepy. I told him flat out it was a scam and asked him to stop calling me. The number seemed to come from Bristol. Just a few days ago, I’d got a call from a very similar Bristol number starting with 0117 478 and ending in 148, which I’d already blocked. They just switched the last four digits to 0202 to try and get me again. I’ve blocked this new one too now.

They appear to be utilising VOIP, which is just a fancy term for internet-based phone lines, effectively making it easy for businesses to disguise their real numbers. Be extremely cautious and steer clear of engaging with these charlatans!

I keep receiving calls from this "Home Benefits Survey" lot. I specifically asked to be removed from their calling list, yet the woman on the line responded rather arrogantly that it wouldn’t be possible. Quite infuriating!
