Today I got a call from someone asking about insulation. I told them to contact my local council instead. The person sounded quite old, and I could tell straight away it was a scam. I've blocked the number now.

They keep calling nonstop, even when you block the number, cos they just switch to different numbers but it’s always the same lot behind it. Make sure you report every call to your phone company and the police with as much detail as you can - dates, times, everything. This info really helps them catch the scammers in the end.

I’m from Bristol and haven’t even picked up, but I keep getting calls from a Manchester number. I blocked it, but then they just put +44 before the same digits and managed to get through again 🤦🏻‍♀️ I blocked that too, then a different Manchester number rang me which I also blocked, and now they're using another one to ring me. All these calls seem linked to an insulation scam.

WATCH OUT FOR SPRAY FOAM! It can seriously damage your roof and might even stop you from selling your home. I reckon these dodgy salesmen are trying to scare people about fibreglass insulation just so they can push spray foam instead. Having spray foam could make it really hard to get a mortgage or sell the place. When someone called asking about my loft insulation, I immediately knew it was a scam.

Had a call from a woman named Jo, who sounded quite harsh and rushed right in without checking if I had time to talk. The whole thing seemed off, like parts of her voice were pre-recorded and then suddenly went really loud and grating. Honestly, her phone manner needs a lot of work. She wouldn’t say much about where she was calling from, focusing instead on what she wanted to pitch. My gut feeling is this was one of those scams about loft insulation. I was about to tell her to take me off their list (I’m registered with TPS, anyway) when she just hung up on me mid-sentence. Not impressed.

Got a random ring from this number. A woman said she was with the ‘home insulation hub’ and that they were around doing loft insulation checks and sorting out government grants.
