I got this random ring the other day from someone saying they were calling on behalf of Currys, about a fridge we bought ages back. They said the insurance was nearly up and asked if I wanted to extend it. Sounded pretty legit, the woman sounded really clear and friendly, with barely any accent, supposedly from Bristol. Luckily, I just said no since I’d already gone through all our appliance cover recently. Felt like a close call though, could’ve easily fallen for it and ended up paying for something fake. Watch out for this one!

I got a call asking about insurance for a home appliance, so it’s definitely not a scam. But they didn't leave any voicemail or details, so I had no clue who was calling. Honestly, their customer service was rubbish since they ended up losing me as a potential customer. Still, as far as I can tell, it’s legit.

They called me three times but I didn’t pick up. After ringing about five times each, the calls just ended without leaving any voicemail.

Got no voicemail when I picked up, it just went straight to the answering machine. Seems like a typical cold call to me.

Got a call saying my warranty had run out, they brought up Currys too. Sounded fishy right away. Turns out when they asked for my address, it didn’t match their records and it wasn’t even for my appliance. Haha. Glad I didn’t hand over any bank info for a so-called extended warranty!

This number has called me three times already. I picked up on the last call and it was really odd. The guy claimed he was from Currys, but when I asked what it was regarding, he just kept quiet. I asked if he was trying to sell me something, and again, no response - I asked that like three times! I told him I was busy and asked what he wanted, but he still stayed silent. Then he said he’d ring me back later, and I told him not to bother. Pretty sure this is just some kind of scam.

Got a call from Currys saying my dishwasher warranty was no longer valid. When I mentioned I’d already renewed it, they said the payment hadn’t gone through and tried to get me to pay right then on the phone. I said no thanks and ended the call. Now I’m gonna double check my payment just to be sure, then block the number.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from Currys about a care and repair agreement. They told me it wasn’t set up properly and asked if I wanted to renew it. Afterwards, I rang Currys direct myself and they said there was nothing wrong with my contract at all. Not sure how the caller got hold of my info, especially since I never shared any bank details with them - fingers crossed they haven’t got that!

So I got a call on my landline 01174430012 from a woman claiming to be from Currys PLC, asking if I'd renewed my tablet insurance. I told her I've already sorted that out. She just said alright, was only confirming. I ended the call after that. After seeing these posts, I'm definitely blocking that number now.

Got a call from Currys today, they mentioned the call was being recorded. They already knew my name and even told me the model and brand of the cooker I bought along with the purchase date. They offered me a chance to renew my care plan, but I said no thanks. They were polite and wished me a good day before I hung up. The timing was perfect since my care plan just expired.

I keep getting calls from 44 117 443 0012, supposedly from Bristol. I usually don’t pick up numbers I don’t recognise because if it’s something urgent, they’d leave a voicemail. This one feels like a total pain and probably some kind of dodgy scam, so I’ve decided to just block it. Cheers, John from Exeter.

this woman was so rude, started off by saying I’d recently been in an accident which wasn’t true. I told her to take me off their list but she just said “I’ll call you again tomorrow.” I told her to buzz off, and she kept on with “yeah, chat tomorrow then.” ended up blocking the number.
