I received a call claiming to be from Currys, supposedly to verify a delivery. However, they also pushed for an additional care plan, which struck me as rather dodgy. They insisted on getting my payment information, which raises all sorts of red flags! I can’t shake the feeling that this is a scam!

They rang me twice, I couldn't get to the phone the first time, but answered the second. My phone flagged it as possible fraud. A woman said she was calling from Currys and started asking for my info. I told her if she was from Currys she’d already have all that info and I wasn’t giving anything over since the call showed up as a scam. She was polite and said no worries, she'll email me all the delivery info. And guess what? No email ever arrived. 🤷‍♀️ So, I’m not sure if it was a scam or not, but I’ve never had a call from Currys about a delivery before.

I got a call from Currys and they somehow pulled up info about a purchase I made nearly a year ago. The call was really about offering insurance for something new I bought, with a discount on the insurance price. Honestly, I don’t think it’s fair to label this number as a scam or dangerous without any proper reason. If you’re leaving comments like that, at least explain what made you think it’s suspicious. Otherwise it just causes pointless worry and people don’t know if they should answer the call or not.

Got a missed call from this number (01174430011). When I rang back, there was a recorded message saying it was from Curry's and PC World, and that they’d ring me later. I checked their website and used the webchat, where they told me my “order would arrive on 7th of July” and told me to ignore the call as it was probably spam. Still not 100% sure though since I haven’t spoken to a real person.

It turned out to be Currys regarding an order I placed. When you ring them back, there's an automated voice that says that and they’ll attempt to contact you again.

Got a call from Bristol 01174330015 claiming I’m being charged with fraud by income tax, told me to press 1 to sort it or I’d be arrested within the hour. Proper stressful and scary call. It’s definitely a scam and something must be done about it. I’m getting these calls nearly three times a day from various numbers.

I received a rather cheeky phone call from someone inquiring about an order from PC World, which truth be told, I haven’t even received yet. They were all about checking my satisfaction levels and sounded quite keen to discuss insurance for my non-existent product. I noticed they were fishing for my address as well. It felt very much like a ploy to either nick my personal information or verify stuff that had likely already been pilfered. Quite dodgy, if you ask me!
