I received a call from someone who wanted my email address, stating they were representing O2. The issue is, they're not actually affiliated with O2 at all.

I had a call from this number and, much like someone mentioned earlier, the caller claimed they were from O2 wanting to swap out my SIM card and asked for my email. I cleverly fobbed them off with an excuse and set up another time for them to reach out. Meanwhile, I popped into my local O2 store, where they confirmed the call was indeed legitimate and that it was all about helping me save some cash. I’d been on pay-as-you-go, typically spending around £13 each month, but now they’ve switched me to a direct debit for just £5 a month. To wrap things up, a new SIM card was needed to complete the transition.

I received a call from a woman who said she was representing O2, insisting that my SIM card needed replacing and asking for my email address. It felt very suspicious, like yet another scam attempt if you ask me.

They claimed to be representatives from O2 and requested my email for account verification. I firmly declined and asked them to provide my name, which they refused to do. Then, rather abruptly, they informed me that my SIM card would cease to function. I had quite enough of their nonsense and gave them a piece of my mind. Complete scammers!

I was quite firm and told them just to send the SIM card without that nonsense. They kept pushing, so I turned the tables and asked them to provide details, promising I'd confirm if necessary. Eventually, they hung up on me. It had a Bristol area code, but funnily enough, they couldn't specify their location! I decided to remain tight-lipped; definitely not taking any chances!
