I received a call from someone who wanted my email address, stating they were representing O2. The issue is, they're not actually affiliated with O2 at all.

Got a call from this number, similar to what someone else mentioned, with them saying 02 wanted to swap my SIM card and asked for my email. I wasn't totally sure so I made up an excuse to end the call and set up a time for them to call back the next day. Before that, I popped into the 02 shop to check if the call was legit. Turns out it was, and they said the switch would save me money. I was on a pay-as-you-go plan paying about £13 every month. Now I’m on a direct debit deal for just £5 per month. They told me that swapping the SIM card was part of finishing the changeover.

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent saying she was from O2, said she needed my email so she could sort out a SIM swap. Felt off to me, probably just another scam.

They claimed to be O2, but that’s not true!

Someone rang claiming to be from O2 and asked for my email to ‘verify’ my account. I refused and asked them to tell me my name, but they wouldn’t. Then the person threatened that my SIM would stop working. That’s when I’d had enough and told them where to go. Total scammers!

Got a call from 0117 441 3320 claiming to be from O2. They said I had to update my SIM and verify my email before anything could be sent. I told them just send the SIM, no need for me to confirm anything. The caller kept pressing me for details, so I asked them to just say what info they had and I’d check it. Then, out of nowhere, they just ended the call. The number showed as Bristol but they wouldn’t say exactly where. Didn’t fancy taking any chances, so I just stayed quiet!
