7 yearsGot a call from 01174090627 this morning around 10.29 but I couldn’t pick up. The call stopped right when my answering machine kicked in, so I reckon it’s probably a scam.7 yearsCease the calls. They've occurred far too often.7 yearsI got a call about solar panels, and somehow they already knew the property owners' names. Before I could even pick up and question them about GDPR, my BT Call Minder cut the call short and they just disconnected. Proper dodgy if you ask me.7 yearsI just received a call from someone named James who was keen to discuss something called 'PC Shutdown'. He claimed it would 'disable the solar panels in case of an emergency and also save on costs by re-wiring them individually for better efficiency'-which essentially means if one panel has a hiccup, the rest won’t be affected. I engaged him in conversation for a bit-figured it might deter him from bothering anyone else! When I inquired about the company he represented, he mentioned 'Nextgen'. A quick search yielded no results, so I asked for his contact information. He responded, 'Hasn’t it shown up on your phone?' I told him I would get it from 1471 later to lodge a complaint about the call. I pressed for details once more, and he tried to sidestep by mentioning 'some of the companies we collaborate with'. Persisting, I reminded him that he was legally required to provide that info-at which point he abruptly hung up, as is their usual tactic!James7 yearsGot a call from James about DC shutdown on solar panels, said he’d try again tomorrow as he’s nearby. I told him I wasn’t ready to chat and that I needed time to look into it first. Jotted down his info and said I’d get back to him if I decided to proceed. He ended the call pretty quick once he figured I wasn’t keen.JamesDC7 yearsEven though I've got my phone listed on the telephone preference service, this bloke rings me a couple times a week. When I answer, there's either silence or no one talks, but I can hear some voices faintly in the back. It's proper odd.7 yearsGot a call from a woman who was really polite, but she sounded a bit taken aback when I said I wasn’t interested. This wasn’t the first time they’d tried getting in touch, so I asked her to put me on their do-not-call list before ending the call.7 yearsHad a call from someone trying to sell solar, said I needed a "free" safety inspection to keep my warranty valid after 5 years. They kept throwing around fake rules and stuff, but I work in solar myself so I could tell straight away it was all rubbish. Just a typical solar scam!7 yearsCaller said their name was Smith and started throwing around all this tech stuff about solar panels, trying to confuse me with science. Then they wanted me to take part in a free survey - yeah, right, heard that one before. They kept going on about some US regulations too. I’ve blocked the number now.SmithStates7 yearsThey didn't even bother leaving a voicemail.7 yearsI didn’t pick up as they left no voicemail. Had dodgy calls before from people trying to sell solar panels. Total scammers, watch out!7 yearsI answered the phone and could hear a bloke talking to someone else with a load of noise like it was from some call centre. He started jabbering about my feed-in tariff for solar panels and then mentioned something about a DC shutdown happening over in the States. I just said I wasn’t bothered and hung up straight away.DCStates7 years01174090627 rings me all the time. Sometimes I get an automated voice saying no agents are free and they’ll ring back later. Other times it’s just strange noises like heavy breathing or faint mumbling that I can’t make out. Maybe it’s some call centre where they get paid just for making the calls, regardless of a sale or not? I once spoke to someone, like others have said, who was really pushy and wouldn’t take no for an answer. I told them to stop calling my number, which is listed on the TPS, and then ended the call.TPS7 yearsI answered 01174090627 and as soon as I did, they just hung up on me. There was loads of noise in the background, sounded like it was from a call centre or something.7 yearsAll I got was some weird heavy breathing on the line.7 yearsBeware, this is just another scammer pushing a so-called solar panel "upgrade." They claim there’s some new US law about shutting down panels that might come to the UK, but that’s completely false. Their promise to boost efficiency and FiT payments "up to 35%" is pure nonsense. The person who called, named Robert Sinclair, wasn’t professional at all and came off quite pushy. I ended the call pretty quickly, probably within a minute. I’ll be blocking this number straight away. Also, the number 0117 409 0630 called me too, under a different name, so I’m treating that one the same.USAUKFiTRobert Sinclair7 yearsGot a call from some bloke who sounded really brusque, like he was munching on something while talking. He asked if Mr (x) was around. I asked him who he was, and all he said was “Yeah, you can ask,” but never actually gave his name. I told him I wasn’t a fan of how he came across and ended the call.7 yearsA bloke rang me up asking for Mr Jones, but I'm a woman and don’t know anyone by that name. He said it was something to do with direct current. This number has popped up on my phone loads of times before, but I never picked up till now. The guy’s voice was quite harsh and he didn’t come across as very professional at all.JonesMr7 yearsUtter nonsense regarding the overheating of solar panels and DC converters: absolute nonsense!DC7 yearsGot a call about some solar panel payment scam - dodged that one!Submit Your Own Report (0117 409 0627)
