They said they were from Scottish Power but got my name completely wrong. When I told them it wasn’t right and sounded like some dodgy marketing scam from Asia, the person on the other end sounded really sorry and promised to take my details off their list. This phone keeps ringing non-stop all day from about 9 in the morning till 8 at night. They mix it up - sometimes it’s dead silence, sometimes weird giggling, or they say a name, other times it’s just a sales pitch straight away. It’s proper annoying and feels like harassment. I’ve signed up to the TPS but they still manage to get through. I’m disabled and rely on my phone, this kind of constant cold-calling should seriously be banned.

Got a ring from this number today, 6th May, and I didn’t pick up, just like I don’t with any number I don’t know. That’s why I have caller ID, right? If you pick up random numbers even once, you’re basically handing your info over to loads of telemarketers. Took some time, but thanks to this approach, the amount of cold calls I get has dropped a lot. Used to get them all the time, now it’s maybe a couple a month max.

Anyway, I faked a poor connection and said I’d grab my grandson to chat, then left her talking to the radio while I sorted some washing. Kinda wish I’d told her I was 110! They kept throwing out loads of questions, guessing stuff about factory work and hearing problems. My tip? Just go along with it like I did. After every question, say "sorry?" and see how quickly they catch on that you’re having a laugh. This caller reckoned I’m a 45-year-old bloke who’s spent 20 years as an engineer at a place called 'uratit (you are a tit) limited.' Apparently, I’m also off to a seminar somewhere in the Midlands one Thursday. Truth is, I’m 27, a GP, and live in Surrey. Honestly, just let them get on with it. Been getting calls from them for weeks non stop. They stop for a bit then start ringing again. They call themselves National Incident Clinic about some industrial deafness thing. Really fed up telling them to remove us from their list! None of us have ever worked in that field - not a single person at this address has! We never asked for info about their services and never will! Plus we're ex-directory and on the TPS! So how come they have our details and are misusing them? They should be properly taken to court, or better yet, shut down completely!

I'm fed up with constantly having to tell these lot that I DON'T want industrial hearing compensation or anything like that! If they don't stop ringing, I'll be reporting them to the ICO, TPS, and police for sure. They shouldn't even have my number since I'm ex-directory and have NEVER asked about their services - and never will! If they keep at it, I might take legal action for harassment.

Just got a call from someone who said it was about stuff from when I was a kid and worked in a factory. She got quite rude when I asked where she got my number since I'm unlisted and on the TPS. She kept insisting it was about my time working in a factory years ago. When I told her I didn’t even live here back then and had a different phone number, she just hung up on me in a really abrupt way. These callers seriously wind me up.

Got three calls from this number within a quarter of an hour, but everytime I answered, it was just dead silence.

Today I got two calls from this number. I picked up the first one but there was no one on the other end. Later, they called back and I caught a recorded message saying I’d been contacted by National Advice Line and that I should call an 0115 number. I haven’t dialled that number and don’t plan to. Then, I got another call from an 0117 number, I let it go to voicemail but there wasn’t any message left.

They said they were with the Industrial Benefits Department, but as soon as I asked them to verify which company exactly, they just cut the call. Definitely seemed like a scam to me.

Got a call from 0117 294 9987 this morning around 9. They started off by asking if I’d ever caught any diseases from animals. I told them I hadn’t been to Asia in a couple of years. Then they wanted to know if I’d ever worked in the ice cream business - no idea what that had to do with anything. When I asked who gave them my number, they suddenly asked if I was the boss. I said yes, and then the bloke started making all kinds of farm animal sounds and wanted my opinion. I was so baffled I just replied with ‘a stuttering ostrich’ and he hung up on me. Really strange call. Thinking of ringing them back just to mess about and see what happens. Definitely a spam caller.

These rogues say they’re from the National Incident Clinic, but I’d love to give them a real problem to deal with! I always try to be polite and tell them no one at my number has ever worked in any industry that could cause industrial deafness, which is what they keep pestering about. They’re pretty rude and keep asking questions without explaining why right from the start. They’ve been ringing me off and on for years now, and I’m fed up telling them to remove me from their dodgy database - they’ve clearly got my info through illegal means. Got a call earlier where they asked straight up for me. They claimed they thought I’d been in some kind of “industry” and wanted to know which one. I replied that if they really called me, they’d already know. They said it was some sort of “security question.” I told them I wasn’t bothered and the person just chuckled, saying “I’ll have someone call you again,” then just disconnected! This morning I received a phone call from someone claiming they had my info from a hearing centre in Pontefract, West Yorkshire, and said they wanted to post me something. When I asked why they were ringing, the caller just hung up on me. Later, I phoned the number back and it said it was from the National Advice Clinic. They then gave me another number to ring: 0115762990. I’m not planning to ring it! I’m just really annoyed by these calls and can’t get any compensation for my hearing problem, so why bother calling in the first place? Seems like some kind of scam to me.
