I received a rather chilly call the other day from someone purporting to represent an insurance firm, attempting to sell me coverage for my kitchen gadgets, complete with some tempting discounts. While I doubt he was a scam artist, there's no denying he was a cold caller, and I can't stand those! To top it off, I already have insurance for my kitchen appliances in place.

This number has been ringing me non stop all day long. Everytime I pick up, they just cut the call straight away. So, I've gone ahead and blocked it now.

I’ve got a policy covering one appliance, and my repair was scheduled for today. They rang up to give me the engineer’s name and when he’d arrive, then asked if I fancied adding another appliance to the policy at a cheaper price. I went ahead and added my cooker for £3. It’s getting a bit pricey to fix and quite old, so seemed like a good deal. Definitely not a scam, just a sales call.
