I can't believe these dodgy phone callers have been going on since May 2022 and yet the police or government haven't done anything about it. Make sure your older relatives and pals know not to chat with these tricksters. I've had to tell my mum over and over again not to speak to anyone on the phone she doesn’t know. If she gets a call from some random number, it’s most likely a scam, so she simply shouldn't pick up. I've told her to only answer if she recognises the number.

Someone rang me up asking if I’d had my COVID jabs. I only confirmed that I’d been vaccinated but didn’t share anything else. Told them I wasn’t happy getting calls on my private number and asked if they genuinely were from the NHS, and to email me instead. They just cut off. Didn’t try to get any personal info from me. They did know my name though, which makes me think my details might’ve been handed over from some online form that has nothing to do with the NHS or public health services.

Someone called saying they were from Public Health England offering a Covid jab. I told them to buzz off and try scamming someone else. Then they started swearing at me, calling me a proper nasty name. So, I just blocked the number.

Got a call from someone claiming to be with the National Covid Centre. They started by asking how I was doing and said I was fully up to date with all my vaccinations. They seemed to have all my covid info already, which was a bit creepy. Then, out of nowhere, they asked if I had life insurance. I told them I didn’t think I needed it. Their response was something like "I'm super human". I repeated that I didn’t want any insurance and then they just hung up on me. Definitely sounded like a life insurance scam to me. I've blocked the number now.

When I said my life insurance had nothing to do with them or the NHS, they pushed harder for my NI number. I refused, and the bloke just hung up. Pretty clear scam to me.

I picked up since the number looked like it was from nearby. A bloke with a foreign accent was on the line and he actually knew my first name, which freaked me out a bit. When I asked where he was calling from, he just wouldn’t say. So, I ended the call and immediately put the number on my block list.

This number just rang me with complete silence even though I kept saying 'hello' a few times. I could hear a noisy busy office in the background but nobody was actually speaking. Normally, i'd label these annoying spam calls with some colourful words, but this one’s going into my 'Lionel Richie' category coz they kept calling out 'hello' on repeat. If they ring again, I’m not answering as Louise, oh no - it’s gonna be Lionel Richie, without a doubt. Haha!

Got a call on my mobile from someone looking for my daughter, who’s been married and living away for more than 15 years. The bloke had a bit of a foreign accent and kept wanting to speak to her. I told him there’s no one by that name here and then he just dropped the call right away. Pretty clear this was just a scam.

I just ended the call right away. Feels like our info is getting passed around to these fraudsters, which is not on at all.

I got a call from someone saying they were with a UK public health organisation wanting to check my name (which they hadn’t got right) and confirm my Covid status to arrange tests or something. It was clearly a scam. When I asked for their official website and phone number, they just couldn’t give any details. I kept them on the line for a bit while I looked it up online. At one point, I told them to really think about whether they feel okay working for a company that’s obviously ripping people off. How do they live with themselves, knowing they’re part of that? I suppose if they reckon the Prime Minister’s allowed to behave like that, then why not them?
