So this number called me yesterday from an 0161 Manchester code saying it was O2 and I was eligible for an upgrade. The guy was actually pretty rude at first. I told him I couldn’t chat because I was in hospital, but he just ignored that. Then I said I’d head to a store after Black Friday to sort it out, but he kept pestering me. Today the same number called again, but I just hung up. Don’t trust everything you hear over the phone.

This morning I received a call from a chap named Chris, who claimed he was phoning from the head office of Carphone Warehouse. Strangely, he had inside knowledge about my contract being due for renewal and even knew my husband’s first name, which is rather concerning considering he’s the one listed on the account. He proposed some enticing discounts for renewing my contract-exclusively available through the head office, mind you, and not in our local branches. To sweeten the deal, he mentioned a shiny new phone would arrive in a couple of days. Fortunately, my husband wasn't at home to go over this with him, so Chris mentioned he'd call back later. Naturally, I did a bit of sleuthing on the number and discovered it was all a ruse. I'm eagerly anticipating his next call so I can give him a piece of my mind!

Got a call claiming to be from Carphone Warehouse head office, bloke said his name was Monty. He offered a better deal on my phone plan and tried to connect me to their customer services, but the call dropped when I picked an option.
