I’m well over 3 months late for my upgrade and a friendly bloke rang me from “Carphone Warehouse” recently trying to sort it out for me - he was really helpful and gave me all the details about upgrading - at the end, ‘Damien’ mentioned I’d get a survey about how well he did on the call - but I haven’t got any survey or even the email to pick a delivery time this morning - still waiting on that new phone.

Carphone Warehouse called me. I asked why the first call came from a local number, then the next was from a Leicester area code which my phone flagged as "possible scam". The guy said it’s because they use multiple numbers to call customers. He only asked usual security questions, no personal details. Sounds genuine, but I'll know for sure if my new phone gets delivered tomorrow!

Carphone Warehouse seems proper legit. I was browsing their upgrade options on the site yesterday, so getting a call from them didn’t surprise me. Bit odd tho, I was chatting with a young woman called Chloe on a Bristol number, she put me on hold but then accidentally hung up. Then I got a call from some Leicester number. Turns out it was Chloe again. She was really friendly and helpful, sorted me a cracking upgrade deal. New phone arriving tomorrow. Just waiting for another call about upgrading my daughter's phone.

Someone rang me saying they were from Carphone Warehouse but after I ended the call, I got a text claiming to be Vodafone. The text came from a number rather than the official Vodafone name, which real messages always show on a Vodafone phone. The caller also tried to fish for personal info. The dead giveaway was they couldn’t give me any details about the account they said they were calling about. Total scam, probably trying to steal your bank details! Watch out!

I've discovered that this number belongs to Carphone Warehouse, who were apparently checking in regarding an upgrade I'm eligible for. At first, everything seemed quite legitimate, but then the chap started asking for my EE password, which I flat out refused to share. He then had the audacity to request my Account Number and Sort Code. I categorically declined to provide that information as well. In the end, he simply disconnected the call. I've since blocked the number.
