This number tried to sell me boiler insurance but it was a total scam. If you get a call from them, definitely report it to the police. The best thing is to head over to the UK police’s fraud reporting website called Action Fraud. Just search ‘action fraud’ on Google, then find the phishing report section and scroll right down to the end to fill in a quick form. All these scam numbers need to be reported so they can track ’em properly.

Received a dodgy call about boiler upkeep, where they dangled the prospect of a discount but insisted it required the Manager’s approval. Once they transferred me to this so-called Manager, he began probing for my bank details, claiming it was part of the confirmation process. They had a fair amount of accurate information, which gave them a veneer of credibility. However, as my policy isn’t due for renewal just yet, I quickly realised it was a scam and told them as much-then they promptly disconnected the line.

Heads up, this one’s not legit at all. It kicked off around mid-December and it’s clear they’ve either nicked or purchased a database full of personal info - names, phone numbers, addresses, the lot. From what I gather, it’s run by some guy who used to work for the GPO (Royal Mail), so maybe they’re trying to look legit but don’t be fooled.

Someone rang me about some boiler insurance, but it was all a bit confusing. I told them to just send me the details in writing, but they weren't really interested. Ended up just hanging up on them.

This morning, a lady with an Asian accent called me trying to sell a cheaper monthly direct debit for my boiler. When I pointed out that the postcode she had was for a house I haven’t lived in for 17 years, she just said it didn’t matter and I still needed the cover. We went back and forth quite a bit before she finally gave up, ending the call with “Have a nice day!” She claimed to be working for a firm based in Manchester but the number showed up as Leicester. Just another one of those dodgy calls I get all the time now.

Got a call from someone saying I’m owed money for a heating contract I never even signed up for, something to do with my gas boiler. They even mentioned my own name and address, which was a bit creepy. Felt like they were just trying to fish for my bank info. Such scams must be targeted at elderly folks - horrible, sneaky lot!
