About ten minutes back, I got a call from this number claiming I’d messed up my tax returns for years and that I’m being dragged to court. They asked for my solicitor’s contact info. I told them I'd never received any official letter about it, and the bloke said HMRC don’t bother sending letters, they just head straight to court. I struggled to follow his accent and asked him to speak more slowly so I could catch everything, but he just cut me off and ended the call.

Got a recorded call claiming to be from HMRC warning that if I don’t call back the number they left, I’d be dealing with legal trouble. Definitely sounds dodgy to me.
