Got a call from 01162903069 earlier today. The person claimed they were from the MPLC music licence group, trying to make it sound official. Since we run a business, I told them we don’t require one. After that, the caller became quite rude and pushy. Also, the way he spoke was far too laid-back, nothing like the legit MPLC reps I’ve dealt with before.

That music bloke, total pain!

Got two calls from this number, both times they wanted to talk to the business owner. They said they’ve got proof that we’ve been playing music from our Facebook page - which is odd since that’s been untouched for yonks. When I said I’d have to check with the manager the first time, they called back, but just left an answering machine saying they’d get back to us. Bit dodgy if you ask me.

Got a call about a music licence from PRS/PPL. Sounds legit, I suppose.

Got a dodgy call just now, they kept asking for the practice manager and refused to talk to anyone else. Seems like a scam to me. Better steer clear!

Got a message from 01162903069 on my voicemail, said they were with some music licensing company. They said it wasn’t urgent and that they’d ring back or I could phone them. Nah, I’m not bothering to call them back!

Honestly, I’d just let the phone ring out and not bother answering it.

Seems dodgy to me - they said it was about PRS licensing or something to do with the Performing Rights Society. I know the PRS actually exists and you normally do need a license if you play music at work, but this call just didn't feel legit, like it wasn’t really them.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from PPI, they already knew my name which was a bit weird. Asked if we had music playing, which of course we don’t. Then he went on about shutting down some case against us or something like that? Felt fishy to me.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from music licensing, kept asking to talk to the manager. Thing is, we don’t even play any music here! Proper strange.

Twice I've had calls from this number, and when I pressed them for details and suggested it might be a scam, they just ended the call!

Got a call from someone named Adam who said he was with some music licensing company. He was asking if I play music, but his attitude annoyed me. So, I told him if he can’t hear anything, it’s probably because I’m not playing, then just hung up.

Got a call from a PPI company asking if I play music, which was odd because they already had my name and other details. I’m really keen to find out how to complain about this cold calling nonsense, trying to sell me something I don’t even use. What really bugs me is how they’ve managed to get so much info about me despite all the data protection laws. I want them to delete my details if they’re holding onto them, especially since they obviously have my info to be able to ring me up.

Got a call from a really rude guy who kept asking for the person in charge. When I told him we don’t do music, he got all annoyed and said only the decision maker should be answering those questions, not me! Properly unpleasant scam attempt.

Today, 3rd August 2021, I got a call from 01162903069. The caller asked if we had any music playing in the background. I told them no, we don’t have any music, then they asked to talk to the person in charge. I told them to send a letter and we would respond by post instead. They started to get pushy so I ended the call. Seemed like they were fishing for information. Probably a scam.

The bloke knew the director's name spot on and said he was ringing from some company called PPL. He asked if any music was played in the office or work areas. I said no, and then he wanted my name for ‘verification’. That’s when I ended it. He already had all the info he needed, just fishing around for more names. Told him he wasn’t welcome and hung up. Watch out for what they’re asking, even tiny details can be passed on and sold. Also, he seemed really shaky and nervous - you could tell he wasn't being honest at all.

Got a call about some music licence thing, asking to talk to the company owner like the usual scams. Honestly, these constant scam calls at work are getting out of hand. Why isn’t anyone cracking down on this? It’s such a waste of time and can really upset people. Reporting to Ofcom and whoever else seems pointless ‘cos nothing’s changing!

Got a call saying they’re from some music licensing company, pushing hard to get me to buy a music licence. Sounded a bit fishy to me.

They never told me who they actually were. When I called back, it sounded like some music licensing company, but they didn’t give a clear name or anything. Everytime I rang, they just said it was something to do with music licenses. Really confusing and sketchy situation.

Avoid calling 0116 290 3069, they’re a total scam! If you’re sorting out music licenses, the only folks worth your time are prsformusic{###], no one else. Even though prsformusic can be a bit of a hassle, these scammers are on another level. Just watch out and don’t get caught out!

He kept going on about some music licence stuff, but it was really hard to make out what he was saying, I reckon he was doing it on purpose. Had to ask him to say it like three or four times 'cause I genuinely didn’t get a word. Then he said he'd add us to some register or whatever. I wouldn’t be surprised if they ring back soon, probably trying to scare us into paying or something like that.

They said they were from ppl/prs but the number they gave me was nothing like the one on the official website. Feels like a dodgy scam to me.

Got a call about music licensing, and they kept firing off loads of questions. Bit suspicious, not sure what it was about.

this bloke rang up asking if i had a music licence, so i played along and kept him chatting for ages. he kept grilling me about who exactly i was playing tunes for, but i never actually put on any music. it seemed he wasn’t getting the joke as he carried on. then i turned on a couple of noisy extractor fans in the background and said “that’s my kind of music”. after that, he went quiet and i couldn’t hear a word from him.
