Been called a few times by this number. Sometimes I hear office background sounds before the call just drops, other times a dodgy bloke saying his name's "John" but sounds nothing like it, more like some Gupta or something. He was trying to say he's from "opening reach" or something - they can’t even get the company name right, makes you wonder what they’re up to.

Spoke to someone with a thick accent who said he was from BT Openreach, saying he could boost my broadband speed. He asked me to switch on my computer while he stayed on the line to guide me. I politely declined and ended the call pretty quickly.

got a call on our company’s main line from someone pretending to be with BT, telling us our internet was running slow and needed upgrading. problem is, we don’t use BT for any of our services. our receptionist tried putting them on hold to pass them onto the it team, but when the it department was ready, the call had already been dropped. obvious scam. honestly, if you ever get calls like this, just waste their time as much as you can - the longer they’re stuck chatting with you, the less chance they’ve got to scam someone else.

It's crazy that these scammers just keep going, and no one seems to be doing anything about it! Why aren't they getting in trouble?

An Indian guy rang saying he was from Openreach. When I called him out on it being a scam, he kept swearing at me and told me to f##k off a few times. I just laughed back at him before he abruptly ended the call.

Honestly, telling them to #### off is pointless. Just hang up straight away, or better yet, if you’ve got caller ID, don’t even pick up the phone.

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent saying she was calling from Broadreach's tech team. That’s all she managed before I hung up.
