I answered the call but kept quiet. The bloke said hello a few times, then I just hung up. After seeing the other comments, I’m with you - I don’t want a smart meter, windows, doors, or any of those offers. If I need stuff like that, I’ll sort it on my own. Sick of these annoying scammers and people wasting my time.

Just got another call from them, as I figured I would. They left a voicemail claiming to be from E.on, saying they need to upgrade my smart meters (which I don’t even have). The number they left for a call back was different too - like I’d actually call it! These lot are really annoying and definitely not from E.on. My advice? Don’t pick up and don’t bother ringing the number on the message either. Total scam.

This number has called me again but I’ve already blacklisted any calls starting with 011 since I don’t recognise anyone using those codes. If you use a call blocker, it might help to add 011 to your blocked area codes list. I reckon it’s related to EON smart meters but this particular number isn’t shown as one of EON’s official contacts. From my experience, phone numbers beginning with 003, 004, 011, 012, 013, 014, 015, 016, 0177, 018, 019, 020, 028, 074, 075, 077, 078, and 079 are mostly just scammers trying their luck.

Got a few calls this week from different numbers where some automated voice pretended to be from Amazon, saying they were checking for fraud. It’s weird because it offers you a choice to either “approve payments” or chat with an agent. Each time the voice sounds different and the so called transactions change too, sometimes mentioning eBay payments instead. Seems like a classic scam to me.

Got a call from 01157629839, a really pushy bloke claiming I had an account with them, which I definitely don’t. He kept insisting the address they had was mine, but it’s not. He was downright threatening and quite intimidating, telling me I had to listen to him! I’ve reported it to the police and would urge others to do the same. Just think if it was someone elderly or vulnerable getting this kind of call. Honestly, EON need to either train their staff properly or stop them from making these sorts of calls altogether.

I've been getting loads of calls about installing SMART METERS, and honestly, I’m against them. They send my usage info every half hour, which means they know when I'm not home or if I’m away on holiday. Plus, they have the power to cut your electricity whenever they want - whether it’s because of payment problems or some kind of govt control. No thanks!
