I’ve been getting loads of emails and texts claiming I’ve got a parcel ready for delivery, but I need to cover the shipping fees first. Last week, they said they tried calling and emailing me several times, even had their assistant ring me, but apparently no luck. They warned this would be the final message I’d receive. They also mentioned some kind of receipt from a purchase I made back in 2020 has automatically entered me into a current draw, and their system supposedly picked me as the winner. Supposedly, this means I’ve got a voucher waiting to be claimed - they just want me to fill out a short survey that takes like 3 to 5 minutes, then I’d supposedly get my free groceries voucher straight away. So I clicked their link, but as soon as I did, it asked me for my bank info! Definitely smells like a scam to me.

I got a call from a firm promoting the Nottinghamshire Hospice lottery. I looked up their site and even rang the hospice itself. Turns out they really do work together to support fundraising with this £1 lottery scheme.

For the last few weeks, I’ve been getting calls about five times a day from this number. I never picked up until today. The bloke on the phone said his name was Ian and he was ringing from a hospice on Woodbrough Road. He was trying to get people to join a £1 lottery starting in February to help raise funds because the hospice has had a tough year. I told him I’d call back later in the week once I’d sorted my finances, and then he started saying that loads of people had told him that already this week. Something about him just didn’t feel right, so I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number now. Don’t reckon it’s legit.
