Got a call saying there’s a cheque ready for me from some old PPI claim and they’d be ringing back shortly to check some details before sending it out. I told them PPI ended in August 2019, but he said nah, the government took it over and I’m still owed money. Then he started quoting my address back to me, so I just said, “If you’ve got it, just post it then!” 😂 Felt like they really think I’m daft. Bet the next call will be asking for my bank details. 😆 I’m ready. Stay sharp, folks!

Contrary to what some have said, this is a well planned scam coming out of India, using automated systems to hide where they really are. They start by asking some seemingly harmless questions, pretending to be a UK-based consumer survey. But slowly the questions get more personal and risky, all carefully scripted to steal your private info and put you at risk. Afterwards, your data is passed on to dodgier firms who will then pester you nonstop. They’re not covered by the TPS either. Honestly, just don’t bother - block and forget it.

I never pick up this number, it’s usually the same guy who rings up loads of similar numbers claiming he’s with Survey UK and wants to ask about different brands. I reckon it’s linked to those street interviews you get stopped for about Pepsi versus Cola, promising a fiver but you never see a penny. Honestly, they need to understand that when someone says no, they mean it. Such a waste of time!

I just told them my name when they called, and then they gave me a name of their own but went on to ask me like three different questions. I said I wasn’t interested and they just cut the call.

I picked up the phone and it was a woman on the other end. She wanted to know my name but I couldn’t catch what she said because of her strong accent, so I just said sorry. Then she said something in another language before suddenly ending the call. These kinds of calls keep coming like crazy throughout the day, so I’ve had enough and blocked the number.
