Got a call from someone saying her name was Helen, supposedly from some energy saving programme. I humoured her for a bit till I lost interest, then told her it sounded like a classic scam and she hung up. I reckon she’s the same “Helen” who’s been calling from Leeds. Blocked her number straight away.

Someone called me giving tips on how to track my electricity usage by looking over my bills and even suggested I climb into my loft to inspect the solar panels. Once I told them I wasn’t interested in their meddling, they just ended the call. Pretty obvious energy scam if you ask me.

Beware, it’s definitely a scam! If you get calls from suspicious numbers, send the details and the number to 7726. This helps your phone provider mark that number as scammy but only once loads of folks report it. Don’t send reports for numbers you know are legit. Plus, you should also forward any scam texts to 7726 and send a screenshot over to the police at ‘[email protected]’ so they can look into it.
