Got a recorded call from 01147001525 with an American bloke saying it was HMRC. He told me to get in touch with my 'lawyer' about some tax issues or they'd arrest me. Thing is, HMRC doesn't just go around arresting folks like that - they'd need a proper court order first. Plus, the way he spoke had loads of American phrases, which made it clear it was a scam.

This number keeps calling me, saying they’re from HMRC and warning me I’ll be deported if I don’t get in touch with them. I spoke to a bloke with an Eastern European accent who somehow knew my full name, DOB, and National Insurance number, which was quite shocking. He told me I owed HMRC £486.80 in unpaid tax and threatened that if I didn’t pay, police would be sent to arrest me, and they’d cancel my British passport and deport me. It’s an obvious scam and really nasty, especially since they’re targeting older folks. The authorities really need to step in and stop this.

I got calls from this number on both my home phone and mobile, even though neither is listed anywhere! One time a man with an Indian accent told me I was going to get arrested for dodging taxes. Then later, I missed a call on my mobile and they left a voicemail with an automated warning saying I had to ring them back straight away or everything would be stopped and the police would come after me. I’m disabled and these calls really frightened me and made me stress out a lot.

I’ve never given my landline or mobile number out because they’re both supposed to be unlisted, but this number kept ringing me up. On one occasion, a man with an Indian accent told me I was going to be arrested for not paying taxes properly, like fraud or something. Later, they left me a voicemail on my mobile - some automated voice saying I had to get in touch immediately or all my services would be disconnected and I’d be taken in by the police. I’m disabled and these calls really upset me and made me stress a lot.

Got a robo voicemail supposedly from HMRC threatening me with some sort of trouble if I don't ring back. When I dialled them, I asked the person what the call was about, but I know HMRC and DWP only operate during weekdays. The bloke refused to explain further, just said I'd get a letter clarifying everything and what steps to take next, then he just hung up... absolute muppet.
