Got a call from 01441283653 with the usual spiel saying my broadband would be cut off unless I pressed 1 to keep it on. Sounded like the same old scam.

I just received a call from someone saying they were from HMRC, but it seemed dodgy so I reported it. The guy on the line was Asian and the moment I asked him some questions, he ended the call straight away. Definitely a scam.

Just got one of those calls with a robotic voice saying it was from HMRC about some urgent issue. They told me to ring back straight away or I’d face legal trouble. Total nonsense, same old scam.

My mum got a call that really had her worried - someone said it was HMRC and that she was in urgent trouble, with threats of legal action if she didn’t do something straight away. She wasn’t sure so I called the number back, hiding my caller ID. The phone just rang once then cut off. From my experience dealing with HMRC, they wouldn’t handle things like this. Definitely sounds like a scam trying to catch people off guard when they answer, instead of leaving a voicemail.

This morning at about 8.20am I got one of those robotic calls. The message was quite menacing and obvious a scam, but it still left me feeling uneasy knowing how many people might actually get tricked. I've made a report and seriously hope these scumbags get caught - they really are just a waste of space.

Got a recorded message supposedly from HMRC saying I had to ring them back urgently. The way it was delivered was really intimidating, mentioning fraud and paying back money with serious consequences. Definitely a con. It’s outrageous! Fingers crossed they don’t trick anyone weak or unaware. Best to avoid these calls completely.

Somebody called me claiming to be from HMRC and warned that if I didn't ring back straightaway, there'd be legal trouble. I tried calling them back but the line was always busy. After reading other people's stories, it sounds like a total scam. Honestly, it's awful they can just phone and terrify people like that. There really ought to be laws stopping this kind of harassment.

Got a robocall saying something about my hmre account and telling me to ring back. When I called, some bloke with an Asian accent answered and asked for my National Insurance number. I wasn’t keen to share that over the phone and asked what it was about, then he just ended the call. Definitely felt like a scam.

Beware of fraudulent calls masquerading as HMRC! They may threaten you with instant arrest over fictitious tax debts, pressuring you for an immediate payment. If you receive such a call, just hang up-don't press any buttons, and certainly don’t return any voicemails. There’s nothing to fear legally; it’s just a scare tactic. Stay safe and don’t let them intimidate you!

I got a message just like this and it’s totally a scam. Some guy with an Asian accent said he works for the government and insisted I owed more than £3000 in back taxes. As soon as I called him out on it being a fraud, he just cut the phone straight away.

Got a voicemail saying I owed legal fees or something like that. So I rang back, but hid my number. The guy on the line, sounded like he was Asian, wanted my name and some "case number". I told him straight away I need to know what this is about before sharing anything. Then I asked if his company is legit and known by the government - he just cut me off! Hilarious! Who does he think he is, trying to scare me like that? Proper cheeky!

Got a voicemail from someone claiming to be from HM Revenue and Customs, saying I needed to call them back urgently. When I dialled the number, an Asian guy answered and said he was from HMRC and asked for my name. I told him I wasn’t sure what it was regarding and wasn’t comfortable giving my name. Right after that, he just ended the call.
