I finally picked up and some bloke said the charity I help run owes money on an energy bill - problem is, we don't have a building or any energy accounts at all. I asked how he got my number, and he said from some form. Told him straight up he was a scammer, but he kept denying it, calling me “mam” and saying they call anyone in the UK. I just laughed. Then he tried asking what energy suppliers we use, but I knew right away he was dodgy since we’re completely off grid with gas cylinders, a wind turbine charging batteries, and a generator.
