Got a message left on my answering machine from 0114 303 4100 last Tuesday around 5:05 pm. The caller said her name was Tracy Bell and claimed to be from HMRC. She warned that if my solicitor didn’t get in touch quickly, there’d be serious legal trouble. The voice was quite deep and had a kinda thick American accent, felt pretty threatening really.

Got a call from 01143034 100 today, some geezer pretending to be from HMRC, saying I owed £3900 and that the police were on their way to nab me. I couldn’t help but laugh because I don’t do any self-assessment; I’m on PAYE and actually run payroll myself. The bloke had a weird Indian/American accent so I called his bluff straight away. Don’t get fooled by this scam!

Got a call from someone with a really heavy Indian accent, saying they were from HMRC. Earlier this week I also got a dodgy recorded message supposed to be from Revenue and Customs, warning me to ring back or face some serious legal trouble. Totally obvious scam if you ask me.
