Tonight, someone from a company called me and asked to speak with me. Unfortunately, he completely mispronounced my first name (strangely, I've noticed that people of Asian descent tend to struggle the most with it). In response, I said, "If you can pronounce my first name correctly, I'll be happy to talk." However, there was only silence on the other end followed by a rather condescending "We will send the information in writing." Needless to say, he promptly ended the call. It's puzzling how difficult it could be to pronounce a simple four-letter name like mine!
