She urged me to return the call, emphasising it was urgent and that there would be serious legal ramifications if I didn’t, either personally or through my solicitor. The wording was rather unsettling, advising me not to disregard the communication, and concluding with a rather odd 'thank you and take care'. Regrettably, I mistakenly deleted the voicemail while attempting to save it, so I can't recall the exact phrasing, but it certainly raised my suspicions about its legitimacy. I owe HMRC nothing at all, so this feels undoubtedly like a dodgy scam.
