6 yearsI received a call from this number on the 4th of December, 2020, around midday, and there was a voicemail left. It was an automated female voice that relayed a rather alarming message, claiming to be Officer Dennis Gray from HMRC. She urged me to return the call, emphasising it was urgent and that there would be serious legal ramifications if I didn’t, either personally or through my solicitor. The wording was rather unsettling, advising me not to disregard the communication, and concluding with a rather odd 'thank you and take care'. Regrettably, I mistakenly deleted the voicemail while attempting to save it, so I can't recall the exact phrasing, but it certainly raised my suspicions about its legitimacy. I owe HMRC nothing at all, so this feels undoubtedly like a dodgy scam. I’ve decided it’s best to block the number entirely.Dennis GrayHMRC6 yearsGot a voicemail around lunchtime yesterday from some random number, said it was from Sheffield but the accent was totally American. The person pretended to be an inland revenue officer and threatened me to call back or my solicitor would have to, or else consequences. Absolutely ridiculous and a proper laugh, but I guess some folks might find it pretty scary. I just deleted the message and blocked the number straight away.Sheffield6 yearsJust received a rather alarming call today claiming to be from HMRC!
