Just got a ring from 0113 868 5057 and luckily my Samsung’s got this ‘hiya’ app. It’s proper handy, telling me right away if it thinks it’s a spam call. Didn’t even pick up, just blocked it dead quick! Honestly, there oughta be some proper laws to stop people selling on personal unlisted numbers to dodgy characters who end up using them for scams and all that rubbish! Total nightmare. CO

I got a call from 0113 8685057 at about 5:25pm on 13/01/21. A woman spoke really politely and even knew my name along with some info about an accident I was involved in. She claimed to be from a legal advice centre. After this, I rang my insurance firm and they told me it was probably a phishing attempt, saying nothing was due on my account. They advised me to treat any similar calls in the future as fake. It seems they had some initial data about me already, which I find quite worrying.

I picked up and said hello a couple times but no-one said anything back, then the call just ended. So frustrating.

I reckon these calls are tied to those insurance accident scams. I got a ring from 01213680023, so I blocked it. Not long after, another dodgy number popped up with the same deal. When I picked up, no one was on the line. Feels like they pass your number around for a follow-up call or something.
