Someone tried to verify my address today. I told them I don’t share personal details with strangers. I’ve gotten a couple calls like this before.

Shows as a landline which seems legit. They actually knew my address and the bank account I use. Told me I qualify for a £700 refund but they’ll take 36% of it. The only thing she asked for was my email so she could send a form for me to sign and send back. Not really sure what to make of it.

I used to be employed by this firm, and because of the latest GDPR regulations, the only reason they contact you is if you’ve dealt with them before and shared info with them (even if you don’t recall). They offer to help reclaim money you might’ve spent on services like travel insurance, phone insurance or roadside assistance. This isn’t a scam! Please be polite, as we’re usually friendly people trying to do our jobs and genuinely aiming to help you recover some cash!

Total scam. The person on the line tries to get your personal info by pretending they are helping you get bank fees refunded. They turn really rude if you call them out on it being a con!! Never share any personal info on the phone and just block this number straight away.

They phoned me claiming to be from a financial claims firm in Leeds and even verified my address and stuff. I honestly have no clue how they got hold of my number so I just blocked them. They asked if I lived at an address where my sister-in-law stays and if I was her (Sharon), which I told them I’m not. Seems like someone must’ve passed them my number but when I questioned them, they refused to say who. The odd thing is, they had my number but kept calling me Sharon and confirming the address where she lives. Funny enough, she is actually my sister-in-law.

some woman said the company was ttl or something, talking about getting money back from the bank for travel insurance before 2013. asked if i had the travel insurance documents. told her i wasn’t sure and needed to check with my premier manager. she just said thanks and goodbye. felt a bit sketchy.

They already knew loads about me, which was pretty creepy, but then asked for my birthdate to ‘make sure I was over 18’. I just hung up and blocked the number. Plus, they even got my name a bit wrong.

I missed the call and when I looked it up online, I saw some really worrying reviews. Honestly, I’d say it’s best not to answer calls like this.

Some company rang me today saying I could get money back from my bank. They got my name totally wrong and got all cheeky when I refused to give my DOB. Kept going on that it wasn’t sensitive info and then got rude again when I said I wasn’t interested. The caller claimed their firm is government backed or something. Yeah, sure, as if the government lets companies cold call and ask for private info. Total scam if you ask me.

I missed the call earlier, so when I tried to ring back using my work phone (thinking it might be spam), I got an automated message saying "this number doesn’t accept calls from private numbers." Then I called again without blocking my number, but it just kept ringing. Pretty sure now it was spam.
