Checked today, 27/02/2020, this call is from Northern Power Grid. They look after the electricity network in Yorkshire, North East and Lincolnshire. They’re apparently going through their phone records to update details for folks who might need extra assistance during outages, like those using stairlifts or medical devices at home. You can look them up on Google and call their 0800 number just to confirm you’re on their list or to get added.

I received a call from this number on Thursday, 27th February 2020, at precisely 2:58 PM. When I answered, I was met with silence on the other end. It’s not the first time this number has bothered me; previously, I’ve answered and heard an automated female voice claiming they are affiliated with Northern Power Grid, stating I’m in their service area.
Clearly, this is nothing more than a scam perpetrated by some fool who ought to find a real job and contribute positively to society.

I called the number back and got an automated message from Northern Power. It said something about support for winter bills and asked for my npower account number. As soon as it asked for that, I just ended the call and didn’t share any info. They mentioned something about up to £140 off the bill between December and March. With all the scams going around these days, I’m not giving out personal details to recorded messages or online stuff.

I called the number back and got an automated message from Northern Power talking about help with winter bills. It wanted me to give my npower account number, so I just hung up and didn’t share anything. I’m aware that npower offers a £140 discount on bills from December to March for people on benefits like PIP and ESA(IR).
