2 yearsDont even bother answering calls from these crooks, just block their number straight away. They’re nothing but con artists trying to trick you.2 yearsGot a random call that sounded like it was some Asian language, maybe Chinese, and I have no clue who it was. Feels dodgy, could be a scam?2 yearsThey called about insuring home appliances, but I told them straight up I wasn’t up for any dodgy calls today and to ring back next week instead.2 yearsGot a call from this number on my home phone about 10 am today. It sounded like one of those energy advice scams - a woman talking. I quickly ended the call. These sorts of calls keep happening around that time every day.2 yearsGot a voicemail from some kind of household survey folks. They said if I wanted to stop getting calls, I should ring back and leave my details so they can take me off their list. Yeah, right! Like I’m gonna do that.2 yearsGot a call from this number earlier today. It rang through to my voicemail but nobody said anything or left a message. Probably just another scam, I reckon.2 yearsA chap rang me earlier today. I didn't reveal my name but cheekily inquired about his. He introduced himself as Mark Gallagher, though his accent hinted that might not be the truth. When I pressed him for the name of his business, he flatly refused to share. Upon asking the purpose of his call, he became rather irate, exclaiming, "Stop faffing about, you eejit! I'll ring back and have a proper chat with her." And just like that, he hung up on me. For clarity, "eejit" is a bit of Scottish lingo meaning idiot. It was quite telling that he wouldn’t part with any information until I’d verified who I was, which, of course, I declined to do.Mark Gallagher2 yearsHad a call from someone pretending to be an energy advisor - total scam. Tried reporting it to the TPS but honestly, it didn’t do much. Waste of effort really.2 yearsThey tried to con me into buying some dodgy energy deal, total scam.2 yearsGot a call today from a Leeds number, some Energy Advice supposedly. A well-mannered lady rang me at 10:12am, but I quickly hung up once I realised it was just another scam. Funny thing is, I got a similar call yesterday around the same time, but that was from near The Mall Admiralty Arch in London, and it was about energy too. These calls are happening everyday now, and they’re really getting on my nerves. It’s just cold calling and nothing but a nuisance. Definitely a scam call, no doubt about it!The MallAdmiralty ArchLondon2 yearsGot a call from some number with a Northern England area code, not saved in my contacts. They said it was Peerless Network, but it sounded dodgy and was probably some VoIP scam. Wouldn't trust it.Peerless Network2 yearsGot a dodgy call from someone pretending to be my energy provider. Totally felt like a scammer trying to pull a fast one.2 yearsGot a call bright and early at 8.15 on Saturday from someone claiming to be a local energy consultant. But the number showed up as from Leeds, which is miles away from me - not exactly local! Feels like they’re just collecting numbers to hand over to others who might turn up at your door. They couldn’t tell me my name or where exactly they were calling from. My advice? Just hang up straight away and try to block the number if you can, like I did. They rang from a different Leeds number about a month back too, which I also blocked. Looks like they’re using some kind of VOIP setup.Leeds2 yearsGot a pointless scam call bright and early on a Saturday, 8:00am no less. Seriously, how do these people keep getting through? Just ignore and hang up straight away, don’t share anything! Total waste of time.2 yearsI asked for their info on the answerphone, but they ended the call. Blocked them now. Really appreciate the helpful tips, cheers!2 yearsSomeone rang saying they were Gemma from the energy company around here.Gemma2 yearsNo message was left on my voicemail when I picked up. I’m not 100% sure it’s a scam, might just be some energy firm trying to sell something. For now, it’s just "unknown" to me.2 yearsAnother pointless call with no voicemail left. Fingers crossed it ends up costing them something.2 yearsGot a call from 01135252215 earlier today, didn’t really know the number. When I picked up it sounded like someone from an energy company, or at least a number close to it. Strange!Submit Your Own Report (0113 525 2215)
