I got a call from a lady saying she was a ‘local energy advisor’. She insisted that my attic’s loft insulation was unsafe. When I asked how she even knew what was up there, she just hung up. Pretty obvious scam if you ask me.

On the third try, she just said something totally irrelevant to my question. Plus, there were these awkward pauses after I spoke before she replied, so it was obvious it was some sort of automated system using pre-recorded lines.

22/05/23 Got a call from a woman claiming there was a problem with my loft insulation and it was a free check. She wanted me to agree and said she'd ring back in 30 minutes to arrange a time to inspect the loft. Asked if I owned the house and if the loft was easy to get to. I instantly guessed it was a scam and hung up. About a year ago, I got the same call and they even asked if I lived by myself. From what I’ve heard, they go to the homes of people alone, inspect the loft, and then try to pressure them into paying for supposed faults on the spot.
