Got a call about my insurance renewal from Direct Line, they first started by asking for my address details. They already had my name and mobile, but the postcode they mentioned was wrong. I don’t even have home insurance with Direct Line, so it felt really fishy. It seemed clear that the aim was to get me to pay for a “renewal” by handing over my card information during the call. I ended the conversation and told the woman I thought it was a scam, then said I’d be reporting the number to the UK’s Action Fraud.
